If you’re looking for high-quality seafood in a fast-casual setting, Brown Bag Seafood is a must-visit. I recently stopped by their Lincoln Park location (746 W Webster Ave, Chicago, IL 60614) for a Lenten lunch, and once again, it did not disappoint.
This wasn’t my first time dining at Brown Bag Seafood—I had been before and enjoyed it, but this visit confirmed that it’s easily the best fast-casual fish I’ve ever had. I ordered the Dinner Plate ($22), which came with Crispy Cod, French Fries, and Garlic Bread. The cod was perfectly fried with a golden, crunchy exterior and tender, flaky fish inside. Paired with the crispy fries and the buttery garlic bread, it was a satisfying and well-balanced meal.
I also couldn’t resist adding an order of hush puppies ($6.50), and they were absolutely worth it. Light, crispy, and packed with flavor, they made for the perfect side dish.
